Anant Chaturdashi is the day to worship Lord Vishnu in the Anant form. Anant Chaturdashi is the day of the immersion of Ganpati. It is also known as Ganesh Visarjan. This is the day when the festival of Ganeshotsav comes to an end.

The day’s main ritual is the tying of the sacred thread which consists of fourteen knots. Devotees observe a fast from morning to evening. Prayers are offered at Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna temples or at home. The idols of Lord Vishnu are offered sandalwood, fruits, flowers and dhoop. Mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna can be chanted. Chanting of the thousand names of Lord Vishnu or the Vishnu Stotram can also be chanted.
