Description:

Vat Savitri is similar to Vat Purnima. It is celebrated twice in a month based on the Hindu Lunar calendars – Amanta and Purnimanta. In the Purnimanta calendar, Vat Savitri Vrat is observed during Jyeshtha Amavasya and in the Amanta calendar, Vat Purnima Vrat which is also called as Vat Savitri Vrat, is observed during Jyeshtha Purnima. Hence, women in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Southern India observe the Vrat 15 days later than the women in North India.
